This already happens to a degree over here in the UK. Certainly on my Pharmacy course there is a module called 'Medicinal plants'. Lets not forget that many medicines are developed from 'lead activity compounds' Salacin in willow bark to aspirin, Quinine derivatives, penicillin from Penicillium notarum fungus - the list goes on! Only a fool would ignore 'alternative' therapies. They just need research done on them to show what works, what doesn't, and why.
