southern hemisphere and spinning direction

My husband had a query and I think it's a good one. We live in Australia. The water goes down the plughole in the opposite direction to the northern hemisphere (ie. anti-clockwise). Vines also grow up trees in the opposite way. He wondered if we should be spinning in the opposite direction? I tried it this morning (I'm up to 13 repeats of everything). I felt very dizzy and an a little sick - but then I haven't built up to it as I've been spinning the other way.
