3/4 of Iraq to have elections;some Provinces excluded
"3/4 of Iraq to have elections" - This is the proposal of some who are insisting that the elections go ahead despite the growing violence in Iraq.
The Provinces in Iraq that are fighting too much will not get to vote in the upcoming {january'05?] Iraq elections , and when order is establised they can vote in the next election.
This cannot be good for the long run. The provinces with the most resistance to American influence in Iraqi politics are going to be shunned in these elections.
The candidates that are supported by the Americans, actually given approval by Americans, will most likely be elected, and the other candidates, equal citizens of Iraq who would oppose the American-favoured politicians, are being excluded due to fighting in their provinces. Who knows how much this can be arranged to favour one side...
The post-election Iraqi legistlature will have an imbalanced representation, and the ones left out will not have a chance to ever get back in on equal footing. The elected ones, from the provinces that did manage to hold a vote, will have a stronger position next time around.
Familiarity, and the opportunity to make connections with business and influential citizens, are two main factors in the next election. The ability to establish 'support-for-favours' that goes on in every government is clearly with the incumbents who will prove their ability to get their hands on the money and get it into the hands of their friends and supporters simply by being in power.
So democracy would want them to wait and hold elections when it is fair for all, when Americans are either outta there[but then civil war would erupt] or when they have civil peace [which won't happen until elections are held?]
What the heck to do? Its a genuine QUAGMIRE.
Told ya so...
Karlin.
PS -
We could look at the 3/4 election idea as a way to further divide Iraqis against each other, a ploy by the Americans.
Its a classic Elite-NWO-Illuminatti [A.K.A."them", or "they"] use this tactic - division - to weaken populations and make it easier to control them, easier to operate within their borders. {oil?}
