For Rudenksi: What did God tell you about homosexuality?

I'm sure you've probably been asked this like a gazillion times, and if you haven't, well please allow me to be the first:

What is the deal with homosexuality?

Did God ever speak with you about this topic?

Is it okay to be gay?

I've been in love with a man I've known since high-school (we're both 45 years old). Without going into the details of the situation (if only due to time and space), the bottom line is:

He's married, closeted, and we've never been intimate. I've also only recently revealed to him my feelings, and we both have pulled away, mostly because he has such a beautiful life (seemingly, from the "outside"), and such a beautiful family (wife, two children), that I could not bear to be the reason for the break-up of his marital union (even if it is only "seemingly" blissful).

That said (and I thought this was going to be a brief post - sorry), I find it quite strange that I would have these feelings for so long and that they be so strong for so many years.

But again, for now, the details don't matter (karmic or not).

And my main questions are:

Is it okay to be gay, and has God ever addressed this topic with you (and I don't mean personally, but just in general)?
