Seizures and loss of speech

My son is 5 years old and has suffered from seizures for 3 years and lost his speech 1 1/2 years ago as well as seemingly lost his ability to understand. He often holds his ear while he makes sounds and displays alot of autistic like qualities. We have been to numerous doctors and chiropractors and gone to seminars with little to no success even identifying the cause of his problems. He has been on 6-7 seizure meds with no success and is now on the Ketogenic diet and this seems to work the best. He still has seizures but they have been reduced by at least half but still shows the same autistic qualities and non-understanding as he did before. Sometimes we wonder if he can even hear us! His ears have been tested for deafness but they say his ears are fine. He trys so hard to get words out but just can't!

Has anyone had these symptoms or known of anyone with these symptoms? Any help would be appreciated. We have tried everything that we know to try and just need some answers.
