Re: Xuria
Sorry,
The message was pasted on this site from anothers site but without the previous message that contained explanation of the term Xuria.
Xuria is a term I made up to indicate an undocumented enzyme disorder
(let us call it Xuria, where X signifies an undocumented entity)
As I say, Xuria is undocumented and so very little is known about
it. However, I am absolutely certain of 2 things. One is that it
involves a missing or mutated enzyme and that the enzyme is
definitely present in blood (although it may be prsent in other
places too).
The second thing is that, like primary TMAU, it most definitely is
genetically acquired. It is possible that Xuria causes secondary
alteration of gastrointestinal and oropharyngeal flora but I can not
say this with certainty.
It is intreaguing to examine howcome TMAU got documented but not
Xuria. I believe it has partly to do with the fact that it is easier
to identify some offending foods (eg seafood) in TMAU than in Xuria.
Also, excretion of TMA in urine produces odorous urine whereas I am
not sure if the urinary metabolites of Xuria smell although they are
certainly present in urine.
