Re: Acidophilus and Probiotics
You may or may not get results from doing same, but I would certainly recommend experimenting with probiotics to anyone concerned about
Body Odor s, breath odors, or any bowel ailments. Bowel bacteria imbalances are quite common due to a number of reasons (fast food,
Antibiotics , alcohol or
Sugar consumption, etc.), and such imbalances can manifest themselves in numerous ways throughout the body. When you realize that unhealthy bowels can dump all sorts of toxins and waste products into the bloodstream along with the nutrients it's supposed to transfer, the impact of bowel flora on the overall body becomes apparent.
At least some might not see probiotics as a solution (first link), as author Dr. Andrew Weil says, "I’ve seen them (probiotics) recommended for reduction of bad breath and intestinal gas...To my knowledge, no solid scientific research exists to back up any of these uses." But one can find opinions to the contrary, such as the second link in which a study found that a combination of
Antibiotics and then probiotics resolved gas and bowel bacterial imbalance in IBS patients. Assuming this might relate to curing certain types of
Body Odor as well wouldn't be much of a stretch.
