My understanding of why that might be is that lemons are highly alkalizing for your body. This helps to restore the pH balance for all the fluids in the body. As a result the skin is not passed as much acid and toxins, and is thus clearer and healthier. the bad breath is typically from bacteria and yeast/fungus growing in mouth, which with the proper pH balance should be severly inhibited by proper immune system response and the resulting poor environment for their development. Continuing to work on alkalizing your body would probably be very beneficial for you. There is a great book on the importance of pH balance and how to go about restoring and maintaining it called "sick and tired? reclaim your inner terrain" by Dr. Robert O. Young. You can also check out his website at www.thephmiracle.us . Take care and let me know if you have any questions about any of this, Mike
