You sound like a nice guy, one who really wants to see good in the nation. I'll assume so. Just like "Squeaky" and my good friend "Durwood" and all the fans of BUSH/CHENEY04 out there. You have to understand something about the world...YOU WILL NEVER KNOW THE FULL TRUTH OF ANYTHING. Is that crystal clear? I won't, you won't, your wife, your dad, W. won't, HIllary won't, the Pope won't...anybody else you think knows plenty cannot, will never know the full truth or be able to convey the truth once they learn of it. We are lowly citizens of a blessed country. We are the lucky ones. Out of all the civilizations ever put on this earth by God, this is as good as it gets. America is the one. But...we get half-truths from both sides of the aisle concerning every element of our lives. You're dealing with sinful beings. YOu're dealing with human beings with differing opinions on the same issues. And when that is the case, better or worse, you have to accept a comfort level with "not knowing everything". You want to micromanage something that cannot be micromanaged. Will you forever long for the ultimate truth? I don't. George W. Bush is not the best candidate out of an entire list of people nationwide for this office. I know that. But I also know that John F. Kerry is somewhat less qualified, out of the two choices, than Bush. That's reality. Kerry wasn't a lot less qualified, just somewhat. Somewhat. If I have to rely on someone who I've seen in action, or someone who talks about action (both relatively equal) I always side with experience IN ACTION. That kind of thinking has served me well. Now, you mention an entire list of problems that keep you up at night. I sleep like a baby at night. Why? My contentment with the good Lord. If a nuke from North Korea hits my house at 4am tomorrow night, at least I know where I'm headed! You can only control what you can. The borders are wide open...YES they are. The next war may be with Iran...YES that's a possibility. What I do know is that the probability of Bush handling America's problems is better (the probability, mind you) than a Kerry-run band of idiots. Just had to throw that in there...gotta be me!
