Would you do a little research for me?

Hey y'all,

I'm scoping out Leesa's article. I just went to Merriam-Webster Online, and indeed, the first definition for "dystrophy" is: "a condition produced by faulty nutrition." Hence the early research in MD were nutritional studies.

I'm inclined to have the same questions that the author has. Why aren't they doing nutritional studies? I asked my doc, tops in the field, mind you, that very question. His answer: "results have been inconclusive that nutrition has anything to do with MD." They are manipulating DNA these days.

Yet, I don't have the fatigue associated with FSH any more, and my pain has been greatly reduced. The only thing I've done is taken Superfood, switched to a raw food diet, been on a 30 day juice fast, and done some cleansing, sunning, h/c showers, and massage.

You know (thinking out loud here), when they did the creatine study on FSH patients (my kind of dystrophy) 2 or 3 years ago, they had everyone frontload with 5g creatine caps for 1 week, then go down to a maintenance dose of 1-2 g per day b/c they didn't want to do any harm. The original study was only for 2 weeks. But some of the kids showed a 10% gain in strength after 2 weeks. My question was, why put everyone, regardless of size, on the same dosage? They never do that with medicine. So I stayed at 5 g and didn't tell anyone. A 10% gain in strength after 2 weeks and they quit the study? I'd be happy at this point with just 0%- just stopping the degenerative process.

When I researched FSH on my own, I went to a cell pathology website where med students share pictures on the web much like we do on this one. I found out my dystrophy was cell necrosis- meaning death- due to oxidative stress. Oxidative stress- wait a minute!! Sure enough, by looking at the pictures on the website, there's not a lot of difference in the cell structure of tissue that's been "eaten away" by free radicals and what's happening in FSH.

So why don't I give my healthy cells a boost, so that they can have an easier time delivering the healing messages to the weak cells? Hmmm. In my mind, why can't the healthy muscle cells share a few extra genes with the cells who have the depletion? That's what the guys and gals in the labs are trying to do these days.

So you see my interest in Leesa's article.

That boy was 38 pounds. I'm between 3 and 4 times that size. Assuming my 47 year old body doesn't want to grow as fast as a 3 year old, LOL let's multiply his dosages by 4. That would be:

2 tsp liq B complex, bid
2 tsp flax oil, bid
30mg CoQ10, 2 caps, bid
Wheat germ oil, 1 tsp, bid
40,000 IU Vitamin A daily
400 IU Vitamin E, 2 caps, bid
240 mg selenium, daily
4 g vitamin C daily (I may need to increase this)
Magnesiem maleate, 2.5g (1 tsp) daily
Lecithin, 2400 mg, bid
Evening Primrose oil- a dropperful, tid

Also, yeast flakes, lecithin granules, and wheat germ added to toast with honey, cereal, etc. Wheat germ added to muffins and breads.

I just sent an email to Kathleen Hanson, the author of the article. I hope she contacts me.

Here's where you guys come in.:-D Can you find natural/organic/food sources for the above? Best brands, websites for ordering, what does SF cover, etc. I want to try this stuff and see what happens.

Thanks a bunch!
-Donna
