Re: I thought I had candida, but it turned out to be celiac disease.
aw sweetie, so sorry. :( And to be hit with such news while you're on a fast! (I always get more emotional when I fast.)
I suggest that you - and your boyfriend if he can - go on the immune support diet. That way you won't be taking in any junk, eating good whole foods, and can still drink veggie juices and such to keep detoxing. Also, keep taking probiotics.
here are the basics:
1. A minimum of eight glasses of fluids should be druink during the day as water, juice or broth.
2.
Sugar of any kind may depress the immune system, so eliminate all sweets.
3. Eat whole grains, preferably non-wheat, preferably hot and slow cooked, as in cereal, with low-fat milk or rice milk, flax seed oil and cinamon. avoid white bread, crackers, commercial refined cereals, cakes, cookies, pasta, etc. Brown rice pasta is okay.
4. 3 cups of beans a week.
5. veggies - 4-8 servings a day. avoid canned or fried.
6. fruit - 2-4 servings a week. (might need to limit this if candida gets out of hand again.)
7. meat = none, poultry okay, fish okay, shellfish no.
