Re: MSM

nspeth, when you say filtered tap water, what kind of filter are you talking about? Are you talking about one of those cheap jug filters that aren't worth the plastic they are built out of, or are you talking about a reverse-osmosis de-ionising filter?

I have to disagree with Shelleycat on the distilled water. Firstly it is arguable whether any of the trace minerals in water are utlised by the body, since they tend to be in mineral non-bio-available forms (they come from rocks). Your body is much more able to utilise bio-available calcium from food for example, than in mineral form from rocks.

I would say that the best water is pure water (i.e. distilled and/or reverse-osmosis). It is the equivalent of purified rain-water but without the dirt.

The alternatives are 1.tap-water (full of chlorine which kills good bacteria) and 2. bottled-water. Now bottled water comes in plastic bottles which leech xenoestrogens into the water. Xenoestrogens are the chemicals which mimic the female hormone estrogen and are leading to massive ecological damage both to man and animals. They are thought to be responsible for amongst other things falling sperm counts.

nspeth, I am not surprised that distilled water makes you feel much better than tap water. It is Pure water free of added chemicals/pollutants. Not only that but pure water can act as a purifier for the body - since there is nothing disolved in it, it is much better at carrying away debris.
