I think it is natural for people to want to try and trace back to what, or who caused their illness, or ailment. It seems that you are preoccupied by the fact that you may have brought this on your self. I don't think you did. This sounds like a toxic problem, or one of these.

2) die off: unblocks the pores and the lymph glands clean themselves out... through sweating... especially under the arms. I have never smelt before die-off, I sometimes never wore deodorant.

3) Extreme stress can also cause Body Odor . due to bacteria growing after perspiration

4) constipation: Make sure your bowels are moving and drink lots of water.

It is hard to help when we don't know what you have done about this so far.
