Re: Muslims and Eid al-Melaad (Christmas)

Wa alaykom as salam,
We dont even celebrate Prophet M'hammeds birthdate.!
Actually no ones birthdate. We look at it this way, every day brings us closer to the grave- why are we celebrating a year closer to the grave? On this date the mother gave birth, sometimes dying in this process of severe pain, hours and hours of labor. Do we then give her thanks on this day?
Or do we want presents for something we had nothing to do with, as we did not create ourselves but it was the Will of the Almighty, and we dont even thank God on this day.

This birthday celebration is not in any scripture of previous revelation, the Old and New Testaments, the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Quran, no where do we find it Gods commandment.
There are Christians who dont celebrate it.
If you do an indepth study, you will find that December 25 was not actually Christ's birthday. There was a roman pagan holiday called Winter Solstice ( spelling ) and that pagan holiday has been somehow transformed into what is now called Christmas.

We however regard each day a blessing-!

Peace
