Indian Catholic interested in Islam.

Assalamu Alaykum. Hello, friends. I am an Indian practicing Catholic who is interested in ad-deen al-Islam. I have much respect for the religion of Islam (I am currently studying Arabic at university partly because of my interest in Islam; I am a 2nd-yr. Arabic student)--in particular, the devotion and piety of most Muslims--and Prophet Muhammed (pbuh), however, I firmly accept Jesus (pbuh) as my Saviour--that is, the Son of Allah. I know that this is antithetical to Islamic belief. I, for some time now, have considered converting to Islam as I feel that this is best for my spiritual life, but I realize that I will not be able to do so because of my beliefs. I cannont renounce my Lord, and therefore, am in a quandary. Any thoughts and advice on what to do is greatly appreciated. Shookran.
