I can't say much about the eyesight, as I have 20/20 vision (thank G'd!) even at my age. For a couple of years when I was in my twenties, I was shortsighted and wore glasses, but they were only -0.5 -0.75 so my cousin who is a Dr. told me to progressively stop use them, to force my eye muscles to work. I did so and got rid of the glasses about 1 yr. later, never needed again.
After the first flush I did think/feel the contours were in an odd way sharper and the colours brighter; then something really weird happened: you know when you drive on the highway and it's hot and you see the air moving up in the distance? That's what I saw in both eyes, but mostly in my left. Not in the center of my field of vision, but to the left of it, and in the left eye more often and stronger than in the right, I saw that odd movement and sparkles - like tiny stars. This sensation was enough to scare me (I was driving at the time), but it dissapeared the next day and I never felt it since.
So, I can't attest to anything more than this, but I do hope I will not need glasses in the future!
