If I didn't have to work, to make a living I would definitely homeschool!

There is a huge "ring" of homeschoolers in my area - and by golly gee, the kids are smart, socialable, mannerly and excel in all areas when compared to the public school kids.

I'm very close friends with a quite a few of these families. Here is what I observe:

1. School is finished by 12 noon usually - unless they are workin on special projects. Shows that public school can be a waste of time.

2. The education is rich and full. There are so many curriculums to use and pick subjects out of, that even teach the parent how to teach!

3. Socialization isn't an issue - that is what extra curricular sports, groups and activities are for, school should never be the #1 social tool or atmosphere.

4. Teaches kids independence, thinking skills unique to each child. Freeing them from the herd and brainwashing. Tweet
