a couple ideas. water usually represents emotion. pools of water often represent the subconscious. so you could be feeling drawn to experiencing your emotions on a deeper level than you do now, but someting is blocking you. maybe you have been programmed to believe that deeper emotions are somehow a negative thing "shabby" as you put it. or maybe you fear letting go into your deeper emotions for one reason or another, maybe you fear what you will find there or maybe you somehow think that the emotional depths are somehow dirty or contaminated. but the fact that this dream is recurring suggests that deep down you really want to experience the deeper emotions, but you just haven't been able to overcome the fear up till now.

also pools represent the subconscious, the dark murky parts of our consciousness that influence so much of what we experience wihtout us even realizing it. so all of the above could also apply to the subconscious.

overall i would say there are deeper parts of yourself, your psyche, and your emotions, that you are both drawn to and repulsed by at the same time. try accepting your whole self on a deep deep level, let the unconditional love of the Creator flow over you, let go of juegment and see if that helps. i know it will. meditate on the unconditional love of the all.
