This is a great theme: water body changes. Means that your spirituality/emotional self is flowing in new ways...escaping the confines of an 'old outgrown' situation. New new new.

Hally...this feminine principle (water) is changing your House (your Self)...it's circling it (mandala of a Whole Self) showing you that you are opening to this new flow that will balance your strong male side and make you Whole (circle). The water is running beneath the house...so your very Foundation is getting soaked in Spiritual/Emotional (feminine) matters...

Water usually symbolizes 'spiritual' matters...but perhaps in your dream the River is more Emotional. Letting your emotions flow in new directions (in order to be Whole). (as there are no fishes, it's not an Ocean...)

Perhaps you were crying (feeling abandoned) because this was a 'river of sadness'....? And you're tapping into these old emotions of yours (what era was the house from?) is good because you are cleansing yourself of them. Feeling them in order to let go....
