What about the souls of animals?

Dear Andreas,

What do you think about the souls of animals?
I started thinking about this because I have two dogs and I am starting to think that they are actually angels in disguise ... LOL ... Seriously now, I have learned a lot from them! They always love us, regardless of what we do, whether we have been "good" or "bad", whether we live up to our potential or not ... Just pure unconditional love! That is what I have learned from them ...
So do you know where they go from here? Are animal souls just younger, less developed souls? Will they all eventually become human and get to become enlightened/liberated that way? Or are they in a completely different category?
