Gallbladder on Strike

Andreas,
I've been anxiously awaiting for you to open your forum for new questions. I'm new to Curezone and several have recently inform me that I should address my questions to you.

I began having some intermittent upper back pain and abdominal discomfort
8 years ago. I underwent all kinds of test (ultrasound of GB - no stones),
upper/lower GI Series, various lab test) all which were negative. My gastroenterologist tried a limited course of meds for IBS before finally ordering a HIDA Scan. My injection fraction came back at only 8% and I was told I have a nonfunctioning gallbladder. The only solution offered was cholecystectomy.
I began asking questions as to why a perfectly good organ decides one day that it is going on strike not to work ever again. This didn't make sense to me whether your talking about a gallbladder or a pancreas (as in the case of adult onset diabetes). I felt that these things just don't happen without a
reason. I canceled the cholecystectomy 4 days before the procedure and decided to try the holistic approach. I have preformed the parasite cleanse on at least 2 occasions and have repeated the gb/liver cleanse (per Dr. Hula Clarks book) 6- 8 times per year over the last 7 years. Initially I would have several hundred soft "stones" per flush. Each time I would obtain temporary relief of symptoms for several weeks before I would repeat. I have had to increase my frequency over the past year in order to obtain relief and also in hopes to finally get rid of all of the stones which do seem to be less in number. A couple of months ago I had a few very large "stones" followed with lots of small "stones" more recently. My family doctor (internal medicine) recently insisted that I have the HIDA Scan repeated to see if the results had changed. Although he has been tolerant of my pursuit for better heath with galbladder intact, down deep I know he doesn't believe in anything that I've been trying. After 7 years of cleansing the results to my surprise were actually worse with an injection fraction of 1.5%. Now my doctor is saying that I better get it out because there have been a few studies to suggest that chronically inflamed gallbladders without stones can turn into cancer. My gastroenterologist says it's totally up to me and that there is no guarantee that if I have it removed that it will resolve my symptoms. He claims that I do not have any of the risk factors
that may predispose me to cancer. I have not experience any typical gallbladder symptoms until this past year. I will now get an occasional mild aching or cramping sensation below the right shoulder blade area. When my symptoms get real bad I have more of a deep ache across my back approx. diaphragm/liver level left side greater than right that is severely aggravated (sharp burning "inflamed" pain with spasm sensation) with trunk rotation or side bending. I usually get relief of these symptoms within a day or so of performing the liver/gallbladder cleanse.

Some Questions:
1. Does the problem sound more liver related with secondary gallbladder
dysfunction?
(Liver enzyme levels are always normal)
2. If my gallbladder is truly not working, after cleansing this long, is it unlikely
that it is going to come back?
3. Could my gallbladder have been destroyed by a virus?
4. Do you think I should go ahead and have it removed?

I performed the liver cleanse on Friday (8/27) and had a colonoscopy on Thursday (9/1). My gastroenterologist saw several very small red
irritated/sore areas and the biopsy came back acute colitis. He asked about aspirin or ibuprofen use which I have not used. He wondered if the Epson salts may be irritating my colon. Several on the GB/Liver Forum have suggested that I should continue with the liver cleanses every 2 weeks until I have gone clear of "stones" for 3 consecutive times. I repeated the cleanse this weekend again having many small stones (BB size) and 4-5 larger stones (bean size). Sometimes I wonder if there will ever be an end
to all of this. Thank you in advance for your time. Any feedback would be appreciated!
