Digestive enzymes and/or Wobenzym?
I had a dark field blood analysis done and the Dr recommended I take digestive enzymes because it showed a "poor assimilation of carbohydrates" and my blood cells showed signs of malnutrition especially a "lack of B12/Folic Acid/Iron." I was really surprised because my diet is very healthy but apparently it isn't being very well absorbed. I do get tired sometimes after eating, especially high carb meals and have low energy.
My question is what kind of enzymes? I've read about Wobenzym but is that the right kind for digestion or would it be good to add? I've tried HCI Betaine but can't tell if it's working or not. Would something like Udo's Choice enzymes be better? Or is there a better kind?
Also I wanted to thank you for all the things I've learned from you in the last year. Freedom From Judgement has made a huge difference in the way I experience my life and in my relationships with family members. And Key to Health is my favorite book to give anyone who expresses any interest in having better health. It never gets put away because I refer to it constantly. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I'm very grateful for you!
edited 7/16 - Just wanted to add, I went back and looked in The Key to Health and realized part of the reason for the tiredness is I started walking twice a day for about 45 minutes each time and I guess (for this middle aged vata body anyway) that constitutes too much exercise. I quit the before-breakfast walk and now I only walk in the evening and I do feel more energetic and less tired throughout the day. Also, for me it seems to work better to eat very small meals more frequently or is it simply that I should be eating very small meals three times a day? I feel like the amount of food I can hold in my hands (that would be like one sliced banana) is not enough to hold me for 5 or 6 hours. Maybe my hands are too small? :)
