Re: Back in the Sun -- No More Lupus!

Ok, it's me again. Sorry Debbie, I just thought of more questions.

1. Ok, I have heard a lot how important exercise is, for Lupus or other Autoimmune-like disorders. However, I'm in pain so much, I assume you were too, how did you bring yourself to do so? I always worry that it's going to make my leg cramps worse.

2. I have been suffering greatly from Depression and anxiety. Did you have any of these problems from the Lupus? Did you ever try therapy and if so, which form did you use? I've tried so many different therapists and none seem to help. I have heard that Lupus is a major culprit with these type of things. If you had them before, have they since improved, with your cure from the Lupus?

3. The whole "sun" thing. Is that a problem with Lupus? I have not noticed that problem with me. Is that typical? What would happen to you when you went out in the sun.

4. I'm a major food lover and I have a hard time imaging living on "raw" and such for the rest of my life. However, I can understand the basic premise of such things. Do you now ever indulge or eat anything cooked? As I mentioned in my previous email, I need some form of animal protein, which obviously would need to be cooked. How do you handle things like when you have to eat out, at parties, or gatherings?

5. Without getting too personal, how did physical intimacy play into things. My doctor has warned me about getting pregnant, saying it would make the Lupus worse and that most likely I run the risk of giving birth the a child who has a 75% more likely chance to have an autoimmune disorder sometime in their life. Therefore, I have been terrified of being intimate with my boyfriend, for fears of getting pregnant. Also, the physical activity involved with such a thing, I worry it making the pain I already have worse. However, after reading the home page, it seems also that lack of sex can contribute to these things too. So confusing! (I hope I haven't offended the board).

6. My boyfriend, well technically we're on a break right now, but I'm hoping to get back together with him, smokes. I've been trying to get him to give it up, because I know it is killing him. He does not smoke around me, because I am allergic, but I know if we do get back together, I cannot be exposed to the tobacco, in any way, because of the carcenogins. Did you have anyone in your family that smokes? If so, did you get them to quit? Would love any secrets to share with a man a stubborn as a mule!

Ok, hopefully I've asked enough questions. Hope it wasn't too personal, with #5

Thanks!
