Question re: previous post?

Andreas I read your response to a previous post about pregnancy, souls, parents etc. I have heard people say that we choose our parents. If this were so then why would a person choose unfit parents. I was raised in a very dysfunctional, sad and horrible childhood. When you read about children being raped, tortured and murdered by a parent, why would any soul choose that for themselves? My dad was a very abusive angry drunk and I can't imagine why I would have chose him. I'm just curious about your thoughts on this. God Bless!
