Re: Please help me...just found out I have Hepatitus C and I am very scared and depressed
The first thing I would say to you is calm down. 3 years ago I was diagnosed with Hep C, genotype 1 (the worst) and to make matters worse I was seeing a shrink at the time because everyone thought I needed it. Well to make a long story short he gave me a drug called Depakote (Valporic Acid) and even though I felt fine, although scared, I had no idea what was coming. The Depakote, as it turns out, is the worst drug you can give a person with Hep C and the next thing I knew I was as yellow as a banana and man I felt badddddd. After a biopsy I was told I had cirrhosis of the liver and would be dead in 2 years. On top of all that I have been smoking for 46 years so Dr. Schultz will not even talk to me. Nevertheless, it is now 3.5 years later and I am still here. Yes I have made major changes to my life, such as my diet, and I exercise daily and I have turned to
Edgar Cayce 's cure for Cirrhosis. I will not go into that here but you can look it up. I know I have to give up smoking but God help me I don't even know where to begin. I believe in Dr. Schultz and his methods and you can not do better than listen to him. In fact, if I could quit smoking and get his advice on cleaning out my body, and keeping it alkaline (as opposed to acidic) I sincerely believe my own body could drive out the virus and the Castor Oil packs will eventually re-build my liver. In other words I will be alive 20 years from now when I was supposed to be dead a year ago! I guess what I really want to say is remain positive, try to become more spiritual and listen to Dr. Schultz and you will beat this thing. Finally, there is some very exciting research going on in Germany right now using protease inhibitors to cure Hep C so don't freak out just yet. Good luck and God Bless.

P.S. I would think twice, no make that 3 times, before opting for the medical establishments cure using Peg-Intron Alpha 2B with Ribivarin. It took my hair, my short term memory and almost killed me. My white blood count was 4 when they finally pulled me. Moreover, the recitivism rate is over 70 something percent. As I recently read, "Peg-Intron is a drug looking for a disease to cure and Hep C is definitely not it". And, that came from a hightly respected medical doctor who has many believers in his camp who are also medical doctors.
