Re: cleansing and candida...cause or cure?

Candida is a yeast that naturally grows in the gut. At normal levels it is harmless, even helpful, because it keeps the growth of more harmful bacteria at bay. However, in certain conditions, including a diet high in simple sugars, Candida can go from being a healthy yeast to a fungus. It becomes systemic and can affect the entire body. One of the worst things is that the fungal form can send roots of a sort into the intestines and allow both nutrients and toxins to escape the gut. This is the leaky gut syndrome that is difficult to heal. Most cleanses can help control Candida. However, some believe that when parasite cleansing dying parasites can release their own Candida into the host's (your)system and cause even more troubles. That is one reason that it is essential to having the bowels moving regularly and even do a Colon Cleanse while treating parasites. One of the best ways to control Candida is to eat plenty of complex carbohydrates and protein and stay away from sugar, dairy and most grains. Supplements like Oil of Oregano and Grapefruit seed extract can help prevent the fungal growth of Candida. Also avoid Antibiotics and steroids as much as possible; taking Antibiotics is possibly the number one way to generate the growth of Candida into the fungal form.
