parasites being passed

Can anyone please tell me if when they pass a parasite or parasites if they are microscopic? very tiny? I was reassured by someone I called on a product I was looking into that I wouldn't see them unless I "looked" thru my stool for them , and that they were tiny and that the pics I see online are ones that have been enlarged tremendously.
Is this true?
