I would be very wary of taking extra magnesium to compensate - all that would happen is the body would "dump" it into cells creating more of the toxicity you are trying to get rid of. Most calcium supplements are made with chalk which is not a form the body can use, hence the dumping into cells. With hindsight, I just do not believe that a magnesium based bowel cleanser is a good long (or even short) term option for anyone. I fully agree with your point about it causing a chronic electrolyte imbalance though! I shall stick to naturopathic recommended methods in future, psyllium, short grain brown rice and flaxseed.
