6 yr old daughter being diagnosed with possible IBD

We just got home from the hospital today (been there for 3 days). My daughter who is 6 (will be 7 in a couple weeks) has been having regular bouts with fevers usually maxing out at around 102 and lasting 3 days. This last time, her fever hit 105 and lasted about 5 days. The hospital did an abdominal CT scan (after other tests adn ruling out other possible causes) and it shows the lymph nodes on her left side are enlarged as well as "thickening" of her bowel wall on that same side. We are waiting to hear from the GI to let us know when her appt will be - she needs to have a sygmoidoscopy (sorry if the spelling is really off) - to give a definite answer to the possibility of IBD. She has NO OTHER SYMPTOMS other than the fever and what the CT scan showed. I am not familiar with these diseases at all but from what I've seen, IBD usually doesn't affect children her age. Can anyone out there give me any help? If the scoping doesnt' show the usual leisons that would be associated with IBD, she'll have to have a biopsy done of the lymph nodes. I was under the impression she'd have pain, diarrhea and weight loss if IBD were the cause. Can anyone give me any info other than what I can read on the websites with typical symptoms and stuff like that? Thank you to everyone who responds.
