Re: What happens to the property?
Help me with my civics, here....
With a judicial ruling such as eminent domain, doesn't it have to be passed by Congress? Did the ruling pass on the floor of Congress? If so, did it pass in the Senate? Is eminent domain a done deal or just something that's floating around? Do the states get a say so?
And a point about the war in Iraq. A year ago I would have said that the US was justified to go into Iraq. Now, I would have to admit that maybe it was a mistake to go in. But I have to remember that it wasn't just President Bush's decision to move into Iraq. He had to get Congressional approval and funding via the appropriations committee. Congress wouldn't have supported the Iraq invasion unless they had the backing of their constituents. We Americans wouldn't have told our congressmen to support the war in Iraq if we thought it was a bad idea. I trusted my president to make the right decision, based on the information he had at the time. I am just as responsible for the loss of lives and damage done there as anyone.
Also, Congress was responsible for the NO levee funding slash. At the time, the war against
Terrorism in the wake of the 9/11 disater was more important. Lots of domestic projects got slashed in 2001. Perhaps the US reps and 2 senators from LA could have worked harder for that pork.
Tell me more about the $$$$$ per evacuee from Gaza. I heard they were to be compensated. But you're saying the US is funding the Jewish evacuation? What ever for?
Blessings,
