Marriage... please help

God is my only hope. I've been praying for years & everything has only gotten worse. I'm hoping adding more prayer voices might help. I'm only one... everyone else has given up... Here's the situation as short & sweet as I can make it...

My marriage is quickly coming to an end. My husband is an alcoholic. Beer is his whole life. From the time he gets up in the morning till he goes to bed (or passes out) at night he's drinking. He usually takes at least one nap a day too. He doesn't have a job (couldn't keep one to start with, now nobody will even hire him.. beer on his breath at 8:00 AM is not good employee material), so he doesn't do anything but drink. When he does an odd job for someone(rarely), he drinks the entire time... odd jobs are getting pretty scarce. He says he's a "good" drunk because he doesn't beat me. That's the only good thing about this so called marriage. We have no "married life", if you know what I mean. Luckily I have a fairly good job & we're not extremely in debt. It helps a lot (financially) that his parents are letting us live in a house they own without charging anything.

I have always believed marriage is a one time thing. I don't want to get a divorce, but other than suffering for the rest of one of our lives, it's my only option. I can't keep living like this. I'm miserable & very lonely. I don't want anything bad to happen to him, I just want him to stop drinking and be a decent husband to me. I love him very much, I just hate what the alcohol has made him become. Please help me pray for him to stop drinking. If that's not God's will, then help me pray for my understanding on what I should do.
