Re: Twisting of Words
You use this "twisting of words" a lot, invariably when you want to distance yourself from your own words, or pretend that your speech was completely innocuous. You're not really fooling anyone, Ev.
Your title, "The Real Picture", implies that this is the way things really and genuinely are. You implied agreement with it in your introductory paragraph. Is there some other non-twisty meaning I was supposed to infer?
The second paragraph of your quote ridicules anyone who opposes the war in rather derogatory terms. As someone who opposes the war, that tends to mean that I fall into that category, and thus your terms to describe us also apply to me. Am I just being too sensitive here? You only meant all the others opposed to the war, right?
Well, since you're making it personal, I thought I should at least join in.
So, then I simply point out what your professed beliefs are, and suddenly I'm twisting words? Did "God" not order the deaths of many children throughout the Bible? Do you not agree with this "God"? Or am I twisting the meaning here? The Bible is 100% accurate, but it's not 100% accurate? Perhaps you could help out here.
You hope to emulate this "God" you worship. This "God" has ordered the deaths of infants and children and whole nations. He delighted in their deaths, even, if the Bible is accurate. Does it not also stand to reason then that you agree with these kinds of orders from "God", and view this latest round of slayings in "God's" name (courtesy of "God"'s most recent vessel for Christ, George W. Bush), including the deaths of children, with some sort of delight? After all, it's what "God" wants, and you cannot but agree with "God", can you?
Embrace the vile, lethal nature of your "God", Ev. It's all you've really got.
