The gulf war pundits claimed that their war had "low casualties" also. In reality there were 200,000 Iraqi's killed in the initial fighting (mostly conscripted troops and many civilians). In addition, another 500,000 died in the aftermath from causes such as Uranium poisoning (from spent depleted uranium shells used by American forces), to severe water polution( caused by destroyed factories and plants seeping into the water supply with no effort made to inform the public). In addition, Iraqi soldiers were encouraged by our government to deffect and overthrow Saddam (we were going to help them). Instead, we pulled out when our objective was accomplished, without supporting them, and they were all executed. Don't believe the PR. Wars are ALWAYS messy, and ALWAYS have reprocussions far beyond the attention span of the average TV viewer.
