Re: brain fog - KarenMarie and Bob (and everyone)
Hi Petunnia and Son,
I try to look at things on all levels, mind body and spirit.
MIND:
Okay, emotionally, I'd keep looking at things. Again, look at how the fog serves you. Put an identity on the fog, separate it from you.
BODY:
Environmentally.
Is you place damp? Could there be a mold issue?
You can do petri dishes to see the mold growth and what kind of mold you have (if any). I've done mold tests through:
http://www.allergyreliefshop.com/moldlab.htm
FYI, mine tunrned up minimal mold. I though for sure they'd be bad. You never know. Don't make assumptions.
Cleansing the body:
I've done about five or six fasts. I like them, although some people say to be careful that you're not weakening your immune system.
I followed this plan:
http://www.industryinet.com/~ruby/colonics_fasting.html
I didn't buy a colema board, just use an enema bucket. I did go for a
colonic the first day, then the last day. If you can do this, that would probably be best.
I did this fast for seven days. I will say that I vomitted the first time I fasted (on day two...it was the hardest). I must add, however, that my asthma was gone after that 7 day fast. Gone, period!
As an alternative, I think BOB posted this one at one point, if you want one that is a little less extreme:
http://cat007.com/crap.htm
I use
Richard Schulze Intestinal Formula 1 during the fast (take with the shake in the evening). It really helps! Read Schulze tips. Call 1-800 HERBDOC and get his audio tapes and on the mailing list. Hot/cold showers are great too!
After I got my colon cleansed, I did a
kidney cleanse (http://www.drhuldaclark.org). Then, started doing
Liver Cleanses (same site).
I've done 8 liver cleanses. You can do them every two weeks. I wanted to do that, but just never kept it up. Still the 8 cleanses helped big time! I've gotten out about 1000 stones. I'm still doing them and incorporating tips from
Andreas Moritz 's books (see his forum on this site). Check out his book "Key to Health and Rejuvination" it is great!
I also watch how different foods affect me. One man's food is another man's poison (as Agnes says). I follow The Specific Carbohydrate Diet" (http://www.scdiet.com) from the book "Breaking the Vicious Cycle." I really get spacey when I eat carbs. This book explains a lot (although it is targeted to Crohns patients, she explains the link to the brain). This may or may not be your issue, but worth a try. (Note, I don't eat as much meat as she might suggest) I've replaced potatoes and other carbs with different kinds of squash.
Also, I say save your money when it comes to all the fad supplements. If you're not absorbing your food, it doesn't do you much good anyway.
Do ginger baths. Search
http://www.chetday.com for them or follow Schulze's. Awesome!
SPIRIT:
Try to find reasons to laugh. Rent funny movies, laugh at yourself (but not critically). I try to laugh a hearty laugh every day, in fact, I've not had a good laugh yet today:
What did the Zen Buddhist say to the hot dog vendor.......
....."make me one with everything" LOL
Focus on health, not illness. Acknowledge your amazing body and its continuous efforts to create the perfect balance. Create a friendly environment for this to happen. A nice little meditation it to sit quietly, and smile on the inside at each of your organs (it is called "The Inner Smile" details at:
http://www.kheper.net/topics/meditation/inner_smile.htm
Listen to your own body. Don't just take one person's advise. Keep trying things until you have success.
Please keep us posted on how you're doing.
Here's to your good health!
With kind regards,
KarenMarie
