about asthma

My girl friend is suffering from asthma for the last 5 years.
I don't know about asthma. Sometimes blood is coming from her nose. But now it comes so frequently and not only from nose but also from mouth. I was very frightened by seeing her in that situation. Does for the asthma patients blood comes from other parts of her body. Please give me an advice to take care of her.
