I had severe asthma for a number of years. I would have to visit the ER about every 2-3 months and eventually had a pulmonary embolism and was in intensive care for a week after about 10 hours in the ER. Through that awful period of my life, I never had blood come out of my nose. The only time that I saw blood was if my throat got so irritated that a little blood got into the mucus, but that was such a little amount that I am wondering if your girlfriend's bleeding is something more than asthma.

If it is very dry where you live, it may be normal for her to get nosebleeds, but were it me, I would pack her up and take her for an expert opinion.

I certainly would have an ENT look and diagnose. For asthma - get off all dairy. Add cayenne extract and other hot spicey foods to the diet. Hot cold showers.
