Dogma
Hi, Karlin
I got off on a tangent there speaking to the conflict.
Regarding your comments that identifying yourself under a dogmatic group will encounter resistance as well, I totally agree.
When I think of this huge transformation of cultures and planet, I have a vision of us doing it individually. Person by person, family by family, works its way up. We don't need to call ourselves anything.....labels are limiting. I hope that people will see the compassion of helping others out and not care so much about the details of religious following, etc. It's harder to annilihate your neighbor when their kids are playing in your backyard, so to speak.
We can hold within us all beliefs. I have friends that are Christian, muslim, pagan, others. I see truth in their sayings and heart in their conviction. They don't know all of my beliefs and they don't need to. When we talk, I respond with 'my' interpretation of what they're saying, and in the end it is often the same thing. And when it's not, we leave it at personal choice. I am not trying to 'convert' them to my way of thinking, that would be playing on the same level, which the results of stay on that level.
