Re: Removing paint fumes from the air?
You can rent them from most abatement companies. Insurance companies usually have a line on them. Make sure the unit that you rent is cleaned very well.
Also keep in mind that you cannot be anywhere neqar it when it is running. Best thing is to set the timer and then leave for the afternoon and only reenter whn there is only a trace of ozone smell left.
After you shock treat then place a fan in the window pulling air out. Leave this run until no trace of paint smell is left.
In the future it is a good investment to to have the following to maintain good indoor health.
A good hepa/carbon filter unit such as Aller Air.
Get a high output negative ion generator.
Have a built in vacuum cleaner that vents to the outside.
Have no carpeting whatsoever. Wood floors are much better if the right inert products are used...better yet is ceramic tile floor set with inert mortor and grout. (elmers white glue mixed with portland cement works very well).
If you must use a forced air furnace, make sure you have good ventilation in the furnace room, make sure the heat exchanger is healthy, and keep ducts clean (never use chemicals to purify) and use a good filter that cleans micro particles.
Better yet is to have hydronic heating and place your boiler/hotwater heater that runs the unit in a shed next to the house with a high stack.
Always check your home for leaks or signs of mold and stay on top of this. Mold ruins more health than any other indoor pollutant.
