The carb withdrawal was unbearable for me. It wasn't so much the cravings, which went away after a week or so -- those are easy enough to resist with some discipline. It was mainly the ickiness/weakness factor. Somehow I managed to go all the way through phase 1 without any, and a day or two of phase 2, but then I cheated and added one phase 3 food -- Ezekiel bread -- to my diet, which I've been eating regularly. I don't think it's going to kill you to eat that beginning at some point during phase 2 instead of 3. I've been able to make some delicious cinnamon toast with that bread, organic cinnamon, Really Raw Honey and organic butter (roughly equal parts each).
