...that you selected cannot be used to reflect the prevalence of Gallstones in the general population. This study was conducted in a small farming community in southern Italy approximately 20 years ago...and given differences in diet, lifestyle and time...this data cannot be generalized to the larger population. If we're going to do that then we should also be including countless Asian studies that discuss the very high incidence of intrahepatic stones as well!
*Hmmm...I wonder if the incidence of Gallstones is lower in Italy because of the high consumption of olive oil?! I imagine the wine doesn't hurt either!!!
