Re: Silent Stones
" Now I ask you...if someone has no symptoms of gallbladder disease...feels fine, in fact...why would they be having an ultrasound of their gallbladder performed?! Or any ultrasound?!! Why would they even go to a doctor?!!!
Well sometimes ultrasound is done for other reasons then gallstones...for example I had a ultrasound guided biopsy and the technition and doc took a good look at my liver and gall bladder to look for anything that might be asymptomatic but serious. My wife when she was preggers with our first kid had an ultrsound tech look at her liver and gall bladder, spleen, abodomen, fetus, ect. I imagine that there quite a few others out there having ultrasounds for reasons otehr than searching for
Gallstones where the tech simply looks a bt further. It is a really easy deal to perform.
Then you state:
" So how can an accurate percentage of
Gallstones within the general population be calculated given the high prevalence of SILENT GALLSTONES?!!!
What is the prevalence of SILENT GALLSTONES?....percentages would be fine as would a link to some info or a simple aknowledgment that you are speculating that there is a high prevalence would be fine. It would be poor
Science to speculate and draw concusions from those speculations. So now we need to establish what the frequency of silent gall stones are in the general population.
