Re: I'm blocked..
Molly: What you are experiencing is totally normal, I call it: “the funnel effect” – where your mind is in overdrive and even though the ideas are all there they are not traveling out – much like a funnel when it is totally filled and the spout is blocked by this avalanche.
You have been creating and planning so much that each of those projects and actions created more ideas or sparks in your mind. However, they are not sorted out yet.
It is now also the moment you were waiting for: Your website is up – and you worked so hard to get everything set up. You are mentally in need of a tranquil moment in time.
There is always a bit of apprehension before jumping into the water, but you have incredible talent that cannot be denied. Doing so is just like denying you breathe. It is part of who you are – and thus could not ever be “fake” for you do exist… Some may not like your style, and some will love it, and some may not care one way or the other, but it still your talent…
You may be a bit afraid of being accepted. Just like the first day in school….
My suggestion would be to try a new art expression, for a week or two – maybe painting or candle making or painting a room in a whimsical way. This will give you an opportunity to relax and give your jewelry and other existing ideas a time to sort out and simply raise like fog on a lake…
------
That said, I know exactly how you feel and what you mean when you say you “feel like a fake”… There are so many people out there with incredible talent, I feel even embarrassed to call myself an artist – I feel that way a lot because, unlike you – I have not yet been able to launch an art related life into being.
So there again: you are so far into your dream now you have to hang in there and hold on like the tail to a shooting star….

Here’s a snippet directly from my “modus operandi” (paraphrasing myself here):
“What I have found to be effective at loosening the creative flow is a combination of thought and sleep. Where I might observe or ponder for long periods, sometimes over a period of several days [Perhaps at night, or just after work]. Just sit and look and sort of absorb the proposed site or object of my next creation, or a work in progress. Then somehow, the thoughts start coming and the flow of ideas is released.
This “incubation” period, can encompass walking the dog, listening to music or simply gazing, or talking it out with others, – oftentimes with God other times with myself.
To that end I am considering finding out more about meditation and have began learning some gentle yoga positions. I am thinking these may allow for some of the same results: soothe the soul and free the creative mind. Hopefully another piece of the puzzle.
By the way, I am a lifelong artist of many forms, more acurately an artist at heart, but somehow have eluded becoming a working artist. Most of my work is usually an opportunistic type of art: If there is a project to be done I approach it from that point. Certainly not a fine artist.”

So there, a few of my ideas – maybe too many – just felt you bordering on fear and thought this simply cannot be.
In the end – when all has been tried and things are still the same, I just give it to God.
One last thing: the sales will come but the marketing must have its time as well – so give yourself time.
