Hi,
I’m sorry to read about your experiences, but feel like I have to give you the only advice I can and that is to take your medication. I am sure they had to give you some meds for your illness, bipolar. They can help you feel better. You definitely don’t want the situation to get out of hand. I have a brother who is bipolar and his episodes are very wild and he recently started burning himself and he put his hands on a stove burner, because he stopped taking meds. Twice now he’s burned himself real bad and I believe if someone else wasn’t there both times than he probably would have burnt himself to death. You do not want mutilation to go this far. If you just got out of the hospital and feel this urge than they didn’t do a good job, please tell your doctor.
I myself used to cut myself, no one ever found out so I never had consequences with my parents, but I know I was severely depressed and I know why. I had to get away from the situation for a while, which I did, and then it turned around and I was able to stop cutting, but I think to stop cutting when you have a mental illness is much harder and I would again suggest getting help.
Best of luck to you.
