Re: Question about "Hadith"
I cant find that hadith.
Is it bukhari?
There are a few things to remember when reading hadith. The first thing is that when you read them separately without knowledge of islam they are very easliy taken out of context. It is unacceptable for a person to take the hadith and interpret it to suit themselves. This would be changing the religion of Allah and unacceptable in Islam. Many Muslims have taken hadith out of context and used it to harm eachother or make their religious practices difficult and extreme. This is not what God wants for us. 'God desires for us ease'
The religion of islam is quite simple actually. It is the process of bringing you closer to God spiritualy and outwardly.
A chrisitian would easily agree that praying and doing good deeds makes them feel closer to God and creats a special relationship with Him. Although the christian may say that doing good deeds may have nothing to do with his/her salvation it does creat that wonderful feeling that we are doing what God asks us to do and in return we will feel closer to Him.
Muslims pray at least 5 times a day. Now there are different types of prayer. The one that you are refering to is the 5 daily prayers. I must explain this prayer to you as it is difficult for many christians to understand.
The 5 daily prayers are obligitory for all Muslims. Why? Because people tend to get lazy and even lazy in their worship! Prayer is your special time with God and your 5 daily prayer are your own appointments to speak to God. You would have to admit that a person that remembers God at least 5 times a day would tend to be closer than one who only prays when he feels like it. We all have to work at our relationship with God like anyother relationship that we have in our life.
The 5 daily prayer is a simple way of explaining this action. In reality is is more like 5 daily mini-worships. This prayer is like 5 mini church services in one day. It is more than just a simple prayer where you ask God for forgiveness and things that you need. It is worshiping Him in a special way and you are mentally focused in meditation on God.
Now a christian may argue that they don't need tohave a special way to pray to God and that they can pray to Him any time they want and however they want.
This is true. A muslim is free to pray to God anytime anywhere anyway he wants. But the 5 daily prayer are spcially reserved for the pure worship of God.
Now regarding purification for the 5 daily prayers. A muslim prepares himself first mentally before he/she prays. This is a very important step that you have pure intentions about your worship. Secondly a Muslim prepares himself by washing before he/she prays. This is done quickly by washing hands face arms feet etc.
Now a christian might argue that it is not necessary to ash before you pray to God and that God accepts you as you are. That is true but this is a special worship and not only just a prayer. Everyone would agree that a person just about to meet the queen of England in a ceremony would spend sometime to take a shower and put on his/her best clothes. If we would spend time to make ourselves clean and presentable for a queen should we do any less when we go to worship God? Purifying ourselves physically and mentaly as best we can before we worship God prepares ourselves in a specialy way for the worship.
Now releasing gas when we are in this state of worship is not accepted. Wouldn't a person excuse himself if he felt the need to release gas if he were standing infront of the queen? even if you are in front of your freinds it is embarassing to release gas (unless your 5!). Why would we do less for God?
It might be difficult for a non-muslim to understand but when it is practiced it is so easy.
I hope this has helped you and if you could, could you please find which hadith book you found that in, that would help a bit more.
Thank you for your question.
