Re: I will gladly clarify any questions you have
From your post, "Define saved...from what"
----------------------------------------------------------
Quote:
1-...Does it mean TO YOU, that my connection with GOD and the JOY and happiness I feel in my world is not valid or is worthless unless I do it how you believe it should be done?
2-...Does it mean TO YOU, that only your method of being in the arms of Jesus and GOD viable?
3-...These sound to me like the fear and guilt based leftovers from the early days of Christianity,
4-...my concept of GOD doesn't fit into the box you are trying to put it in.
5-... NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY.
6-...Perhaps it would be wise to look at the amount of fear in the message you are sending...it is as if you believe you are SUPERIOR by believing a certain way...that is not a loving message but instead a dangerous ego-driven misinterpretation
7-....Nothing you can do can harm me or who and what I am is Divine. I don't need any human approval and no humans are qualified to make judgment of me or my relationship with that which created me as part of itself...
End quote
--------------------------------------------------------
Now look at what you said.
1- If it had been ME asking YOU that question, you would have been offended, because it accuses the other person of conceit and arrogance.
2- same again
3- Leftovers? Is there something inherently wrong with "the early days of Christianity", as if being 'early' implies ignorance or brutality or stupidity? Fear and guilt are NOT intrinsically evil.
4- God is who he is, regardless of any human's concept. You can get your concept from wherever you want, but I get mine from the Bible.
5-Look at the fear in THAT statement you made! Is it any wonder I feel that this whole conversation is a waste of time??
6- Here again you accuse me of conceit, ego, fearfulness. All I did was quote the Bible, so you are in fact accusing God of those things. And again, I could just as easily apply those labels to you.
7- Who said I wanted to do anything to cause harm? Does disagreement with you constitute an attempt to harm? Did I say you needed human approval for something? And how have I judged you in a way that you have not also judged me?
I've posted many times on the reliability of the Bible and why it is in a class by itself among the world's religious writings. It is not, as you assert, written by mere men. They penned the words breathed out by God himself. As Spock said in StarTrek 2 Wrath of Kahn, "You procede from a false assumption."
