Bad smells always have a source.... Water is a strong solvent, but strong coffee is one too, and it may be loosening up something the water isn't.

Be glad as eventually it will be gone.

PS I do coffee enemas and they don't smell fishy... at least I don't think so LOL Does any of it smell good? Hahahaha
