Conditional or Unconditional Love
Eph 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Rom 11:29 for the
gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
We did not do anything for our salvation (but believe), and we can do nothing to lose our salvation. Many will quote different verses stating what "they think" the Bible says about lose of salvation, but they are simply unlearned, speaking of things that pertain to the "old man" with a disregard of the "new man". Most of the timeit is because of a lack of proper teaching that the distinction is not made. (We must pray that God will raise up men to rightly divided His Word) Grace is unmerited favor, which means there is nothing we can do to merit the favor of God. He gives us salvation as a free gift because of who He is, not because of how we behave. Either His Love is unconditional (no conditions placed on the object), or it is conditional based on performance. The New Testament states clearly over and over that His Love is unconditonal, and that all His Grace, Love and Mercy are filtered through Christ and His work on The Cross. We recieve the benefits of His work.
But to the nay sayers I ask this question:
In Col 1:13 it says: "For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and
transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,"
Can you tell me one verse in The New Testament that even remotely speaks of an "untransferred", where God for some reason or another transfers us back into the kingdom of darkness?
Please remember that the synoptic Gospels were written to the Jews primarily for the setting up of the Isreali Kingdom, not the Kingdom of His dear Son.
