Prescription Drugs

So far (at 50 years old)I have been able to remain prescription free - and I intend to keep it that way!! Praise the Mighty One, Jesus Christ~!!!!!

Yesterday, I went to see my Rheumatologist for my Fybro just to see if there have been any new developments. It has been 9 years since my "diagnosis" and my original doc had retired (lol) so I had to see his replacement. When the nurse did my intake info, she asked me what meds I was on...to which I replied "none". Not even over the counter pain relief...to which I said "no". Her reply...I am not sure we can see anyone who is not on any meds~!! This was supposed to be humor - I found it very disturbing. She asked what I was doing for pain relief and I told her: exercise, bi-weekly massage, hot baths and ice packs. The doctor had absolutely NOTHING to offer me other than new prescription medications. I asked him why I would want to do that since there was no cure for Fybro and I cannot see the benefit of being on a medication indefinitely. Medications that he must admit would cause other side effects/problems. He would NOT deny this...and told me to just keep doing whatever I have been doing. DUH!? Wondering why I wasted my $20 copay and an hour of my time...oh well...!

Just think...if everyone went off their meds...most docs would have to get a second job~!!

Disclaimer: I am NOT recommending that anyone go off their prescription drugs without their doctor's approval~! (Just to be safe - hehehe)
