The true meaning of Christmas?

The true meaning of Christmas.

How is ti that Christmas has become a crazy time to go shopping and spend thousands of dollars in material things?

I am very surprised about this. Very respectfully, This is the first year I have been able to see what Christmas means here in the united States of America.

I am from South America, and I have spent Christmas twice there, and one year I was very busy I did not go out or watch TV etc.

Now this Christmas I am becoming aware of this.

Is not Christmas about celebrating the birthday of Jesus Christ?

I remember setting the Nativity set at home when I was a child. I was o Happy because my parents would explained that Baby Jesus was born and this event was wonderful because I loved me so much and he loved all the people in the world. Jesus is hope and love and what we celebrate during Christmas is the gift of salvation God has given us.

I really did not understand that much, but I remember being very excited waiting for midnight to put the baby Jesus in the (pesebre) Nativity Set.
It was not about the presents, however sometimes I had them. It was about Jesus being born.

It was about how the angels celebrated in heaven that Jesus was born It was about how all sheep and cows went to find him to adore him. It was how they could not find a house to stay and they have to spend the time with the animals, but Jesus was warm and safe because the Love of all of them. It was

I love Christmas. It really makes me happy. I love the smell of the food my Mom cooks for Christmas, and the lights and the Christmas trees, because it is the way to celebrate Jesus is in this world to be our savior.

I hope we do not get caught in the materialistic side of Christmas and we can celebrate truly the joy of having Jesus with us.

This is a special time to teach that to the children, to read the bible and meditate about this fabulous event, to get connected with God and love Him and all our friends, relatives and pray for peace and love for the world.
