What shall I do with gaps?

I have two molar teeth that have both had root canals. One is directly above the other and neither can be seen when I smile. I plan on getting these removed as I've had a blocked nose for five years(!), and have chronic sore throats, bad breath and inflamed tonsils.

My dentists say my other teeth behind will shift towards the gaps I plan to create. Thus making these teeth ineffective and increasing the chance of getting jaw problems (TMJ).

What do I do with the GAPS? Do teeth always shift, if so is there anyone out there who can eat still? Are bridges of any good?

I would really appreciate any advice I can get from someone who has gaps currently.

(I have a full set of teeth (32) at the moment and in my late twenties)
